Installing the Binance app on Android
The quickest way to install the Binance app on Android is to grab the APK directly. Because Binance has exited mainland China, Chinese app stores like Huawei AppGallery, Mi Store and OPPO Store don't list Binance.
Before you download
- System: Android 6.0 or later, which covers pretty much every Android phone made since 2016
- Storage: at least 500MB free (80MB for the APP plus cache)
- Network: Wi-Fi is recommended for the download
Install steps
- Open your mobile browser and visit the Binance Official Site
- On the download page, tap the "Android APK" download button
- Open the APK file you just downloaded
- If the system shows an "Unknown sources" warning, go to Settings → Apps → Special access and allow installs from your current browser
- Go back and tap Install, then wait for the progress bar to finish
- Open the app for the first time and sign up or log in
Installing the Binance app on iPhone
On iOS, Binance is no longer listed in the China App Store, so you need to switch to a different region's Apple ID. A US Apple ID is the recommended option.
Switching Apple ID
- Open Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → Sign Out (only sign out of Media & Purchases — don't sign out of iCloud)
- Open the App Store, tap your profile in the top right, and sign in with a US Apple ID
- Search "Binance" in the App Store and tap Get
- The first time around, you'll be asked to accept the US terms of service — confirm and install
Once the Binance app is installed, you can switch back to your own Apple ID and the app will still work fine.
Desktop client
Binance ships clients for both Windows and macOS, which are great if you're running orders or watching charts for long stretches.
Install on Windows
- On the Binance Official Site, download the Windows installer (.exe, about 150MB)
- Double-click to run it. Windows Defender may say the publisher isn't verified — click Run anyway
- Follow the installer through, and you'll find the Binance icon on your desktop when it's done
Install on macOS
- From the official site, download the Mac .dmg file
- Open the .dmg and drag the Binance icon into your Applications folder
- The first time you launch it, macOS may say it can't verify the developer — go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway"
Safety reminders
- WARNING: Don't download APKs from Telegram groups, QQ groups or random sites — a scary share of these are phishing or malware-patched builds
- WARNING: Verify the SHA256 of any APK you download and compare it with the hash listed on the official site
- WARNING: When switching Apple IDs on iOS, only sign out of "Media & Purchases" — don't sign out of iCloud too, or you'll lose your photos and contacts
- WARNING: It's normal for 2FA to kick in the first time you log in on a new device — don't skip the email verification step
Platform comparison at a glance
The table below lines up the key specs for all three platforms so you can quickly pick the right version for your device.
| Platform | System | Installer size | Memory usage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Android APK | Android 6.0+ | ~80MB | 200–300MB | Everyday mobile trading, price alerts |
| iOS App Store | iOS 13.0+ | ~220MB | 250–350MB | Apple users, Face ID login |
| Windows desktop | Windows 10/11 | ~150MB | 400–600MB | Long order sessions, charting, multiple windows |
| macOS desktop | macOS 10.15+ | ~160MB | 400–600MB | Native Apple Silicon support |
| Web | Chrome/Edge/Safari | 0 (no install) | Depends on browser | Quick access without installing anything |
Bottom line: for everyday mobile trading, go with the Android APK or iOS app — they launch fastest and push notifications on time. For longer sessions with multiple order windows, the desktop client is a better fit. If you just want to peek at your balance once in a while, the web version does the job.
Small differences between Android brands
The official Binance APK works on every major Android brand, but the path to allow installs varies a bit:
- Huawei / Honor (HarmonyOS / EMUI): Settings → Apps & services → Permissions → Install unknown apps and enable it for your browser
- Xiaomi / Redmi (HyperOS / MIUI): Settings → Privacy protection → Special permissions → Install unknown apps
- OPPO / OnePlus (ColorOS): Settings → Additional settings → Security → Device admin → Install unknown apps
- vivo / iQOO (OriginOS): Settings → More settings → Permission manager → Individual permissions
- Samsung (One UI): Settings → Biometrics and security → Install unknown apps
Once your browser has permission, any later unknown-source installs go through without re-authorizing. That said, we recommend flipping the permission off again after Binance is installed, so a sketchy APK can't sneak in later.
Install FAQ
Is the Binance app free to download?
Yes. The Binance app is free to download and use from the official site, the US App Store and Google Play (in supported regions). Binance charges trading fees (0.1% spot, 0.04%–0.075% futures), but the download itself and signing up for an account cost nothing.
How large is the Android APK?
The official Binance APK is about 80MB. Once installed, it takes up roughly 250MB on your phone including runtime cache. We suggest keeping at least 500MB of free space on your device.
Can I download Binance on iPhone without switching to a US Apple ID?
No — Binance has been pulled from the China App Store, so iOS users have to switch to a US or Hong Kong Apple ID to install it. If you'd rather not register a new US ID, you can borrow a friend's, but only use it for downloading and don't add a payment method. Once the app is installed, switch back to your own Apple ID and Binance will still work.
Do the Binance app and web version stay in sync?
Yes. The Binance app and web client share the same account system and live data. Orders placed on the app show up on the web instantly, and vice versa. When you're signed in on multiple devices, balances and positions update in real time — there's no lag.
Why can't I find Binance in the app store?
Two reasons. First, Binance was removed from the China App Store (around 2021). Second, Chinese Android stores (Huawei AppGallery, Mi Store, OPPO Store, vivo Store, and so on) don't carry Binance either. The workaround is to install the APK directly or switch to a different region's Apple ID.
Does the Binance app work on Huawei HarmonyOS?
Yes. HarmonyOS ships a compatibility layer that runs Android APKs, and the official Binance APK runs fine on HarmonyOS 2/3/4/5 with the same experience as any Android phone. On HarmonyOS NEXT (pure HarmonyOS), you currently need compatibility tools like DroidiX or Zhuo Yi Tong to install and run it.
How often does the Binance app update?
Mobile usually sees a minor update every 2–4 weeks, and bigger feature releases roughly every 1–2 months. It's best to leave auto-update on — older builds can hit API compatibility issues that break price feeds or trading.
Do I need a VPN to download the Binance app?
No. The Binance Official Site and the Binance Official App download links are reachable from most regions without a VPN. If things feel slow, switch to mobile 4G/5G or change your DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8.
What if I don't have a US Apple ID?
You've got three options on iOS: 1) register a new US Apple ID (no credit card required — an email is enough); 2) borrow a friend's or family member's US Apple ID just for the download; 3) use the web version of binance.com in Safari — it's a bit less fully featured but handles most things. You can find detailed sign-up walkthroughs in the App Download category.
How do I verify the Binance APK is authentic?
The most reliable way is SHA256. On the download page, find the SHA256 value Binance publishes for the APK. After downloading, compute the SHA256 of your local file using a hash tool (certutil on Windows, shasum -a 256 on Mac). If the two values match exactly, the file is untouched. If they don't, delete it and do not install.
- WARNING: Seeing "Unknown publisher" or "Cannot verify developer" the first time you launch the desktop client is normal — installers from the official site are genuine, so just click through the system prompt
Quick troubleshooting for install failures
If the app still won't install after the steps above, run through this list in order — it fixes over 90% of issues:
- Check storage: at least 500MB free on phone, at least 1GB free on desktop
- Re-download the installer: a flaky connection can leave the file incomplete, so delete it and grab a fresh copy
- Turn off antivirus/security suites: tools like 360 or Tencent PC Manager sometimes flag the Binance client — disable them briefly and retry
- Verify the SHA256: make sure the installer hasn't been tampered with
- Check your OS version: devices below the minimum system version can't install the newer clients
- Turn off proxies and VPN: some proxy tools block the download, so turn them off and try again
- Try a different network: switch from Wi-Fi to a mobile hotspot or the other way around
If none of that works, check out the more detailed network troubleshooting in the Network Issues category.
